FAQ

Questions, answered.

What BeatTheDoor is, what it costs, and how reviews, verification and introductions work.

What is BeatTheDoor?

A free local business network. Local businesses are listed from public records, owners can claim and verify their listing, customers can read and leave tap-to-review reviews and ask questions, and owners can ask for help, find suppliers and service providers, and be reached by lenders, buyers and job seekers.

Is it free to use?

Yes. Looking up a business, reading reviews, claiming your listing, using the Ask Board and applying for jobs are free. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, with no password.

How do tap reviews work?

You pick who you are to the business, what they did, and how it went from a short set of choices, and a short sentence is written from your taps. It takes under a minute. You can review a business once a year, and an owner cannot review their own business.

What does Owner verified mean?

The owner confirmed a code sent to the contact on record, and a person at BeatTheDoor reviewed a business document. It does not guarantee a licence is valid, a business is solvent or any work is good, so do your own checks.

What is the Ask Board?

A place where local owners say what they need: a repair, a hire, a supplier, advice. Anyone can read it. You sign in to answer or to suggest someone you trust, and the owner picks what helped.

Can I find a plumber, electrician or other service provider?

Yes. Search by the work and the town. Every service provider application is reviewed by a person, and you can see reviews and ask a question before you reach out.

How do I claim my business?

Find your listing, confirm the code sent to the contact on record, and add one business document. A person reviews it, and your verified badge goes live. Claiming is free.

Does BeatTheDoor take a commission?

No. We introduce people, and we do not charge or take a commission on any introduction, loan, policy, hire or sale.

Where does the business information come from?

Public records such as state business registries, licences and permits, and the business's own public presence. It may be out of date, and an owner can correct it or ask for removal.

Is BeatTheDoor also a lead generation service?

Yes, as a separate product for sales teams: Lead Finder finds new businesses, names the owner, verifies the email and books meetings. The local business network above is free and does not depend on it.
